Wall & Ceiling manual 20122012 Wall and Ceiling Specifications Standards Manual “COMING IN MAY” CURRENT MANUAL USERS WATCH FOR INTRODUCTORY SPECIALS
The AWCC developed, maintains and updates the Wall and Ceiling Specifications Standards Manual. The Association first published the Standards Manual in 1978. It continues to be the recognized industry standard manual for specifications and field practice for wall and ceiling work and continues to extend into all other regions within Canada and USA. The 2012 Standards Manual is completely revised, and is current with the latest standards, codes and industry practices. The Manual will be available in an online accessible format on May 15th for an annual subscription fee. A newly formatted print version will be available upon request. The online format will help us to make updates more efficiently and provide users with portability for use in the field with Ipad and tablet compatibility.

Goal and Purpose Purpose and Goals
are for Industry promotion and cooperation in regards to maintaining the high standards of practice and labour relations within the wall and ceiling industry. The Association works with its members, labor, related associations and industry, to promote the best standards of practice and quality for the wall and ceiling industry. It coordinates matters related to the members and associations interests regarding labour, training, and standards of practice.

The AWCC provides a technical resource service through its technical committee. This service is available to its members, specifiers, designers, engineers, associations, general contractors, government and general public for the specifying, designing and construction of all the wall and ceiling systems.

History Our History
The Organization began in 1952 and continues to work on behalf of the wall and ceiling industry to promote the trades of lathing, interior/exterior light gauge, wind/axial load bearing steel stud framing, plastering/acrylic stucco/EIFS, drywall finishing, acoustical/metal/wood ceilings, glass fiber reinforced gypsum/cement products, sprayed thermal/fireproofing and other related scopes of work outlined in Division 9.
