Our History
The Organization began in 1952 and has worked on behalf of the wall and ceiling industry to promote the trades
of lathing, lightgauge steel framing, plastering, drywall finishing, acoustical ceilings, EIFS, and other related
scopes of work.


Purpose and Goals
Industry
promotion and cooperation in regards to standards of practice and labour
relations for the wall and ceiling industry in BC.
The Association works with its members to promote the best standards of
practice. It coordinates matters related to the members interests
regarding labour, training, and standards of practice.
The AWCC provides technical resources services to members and to the
specifiers and designers of wall and ceiling systems in BC.

Wall and Ceiling Specifications Standards Manual
The AWCC develops and maintains the
Wall and Ceiling Specifications Standards Manual. The Association
first published the Standards Manual in 1978. It has become the recognized standard for specifications and field practice
for wall and ceiling work in BC, and has extended into Alberta in recent years.
The current
is completely revised, and is current with latest standards, codes and industry practice.
