PRODUCTS
The following listed types of products are recommended for use in interior
steel stud partitions, steel stud furring systems and ceiling suspension
systems for gypsum board and veneer plaster ceilings.
The terminology used in these product standards is consistent with that
used within Part 3 – Application and Part 4 – Guide Specification parts of
this section.
ASTM, CAN/CGSB, CSA and other standards stated in Part 2 and Part 3 of
this section shall be the latest edition of such standards.
(This section of the standards does NOT include thicker steel studs
used for wind load-bearing steel studs and axial load bearing steel
framing systems. Refer to Section 9.8 and 9.9 of the AWCC Specification
Standards Manual.)
1. Steel studs
1.1 Description
Light gauge steel studs for screw
attachment of gypsum board, veneer plaster baseboard, or tile backer
board, on interior partitions. Studs to have knurled face and have
prepunched pass-through holes for horizontal runs of wiring and
piping. Flange returns or lips shall have properly hemmed edges.
